Coastal Accent Cabinet Style
The coastal accent cabinet in my foyer is the first thing that our guests see when they walk through our front door. It is a beautiful and unusual piece and I knew I wanted the perfect piece of art over it. When I came across By the Sea, I knew I had found the perfect piece. Unlike a lot of coastal themed art, By the Sea has soft shades of blue and lots of whites, tans and creams – exactly what I wanted. It is available in a variety of sizes, so it will work in almost any room of your home. It is one of my very favorite pieces of wall art. I love the open window, the beckoning ocean, and the vase of voluptuous peonies.
I echoed the peonies in the art with my own vase of peonies and I love the result. I also added a starfish and a seashell, further echoing the theme of the art. I knew I also wanted some texture, so I added the jute wrapped bottle that seems to find its way all over my house.
To add a bit of height at both ends of the accent cabinet, I added an orchid on one end and a potpourri jar full of seashells at the other end. The accent cabinet linked below is not my exact cabinet (I think mine has been discontinued), but is the same size and is also made of mango wood. The only difference is the doors, and I actually like the doors on the accent cabinet below even better than mine.
